Longboard This Week at an Upcoming Community Session
The Calgary Longboard Club hosts regular weekly community sessions focused on a range of skating styles and skill levels, making longboarding and slopestyle accessible to all. Each session is grassroots, family-friendly, and led by trusted community members who host and teach in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Each sessions strictly requires a helmet to participate. Slide gloves are also highly recommended for wrist protection and for learning how to safely slide to a stop.

All sessions are open to all ages, backgrounds, and identities. The community actively looks out for one another to keep the space safe, respectful, and inclusive for all.

The longboarding season runs from the last snow to the first. Surprise dry spells sometimes mean bonus sessions — follow the Instagram to stay in the loop!
Every Sunday, 12:00PM, at Poppy Plaza.
Sunday Cruise
Meet in front of Firehall #6 at Poppy Plaza in Kensington every Sunday at noon for a mellow cruise along the river.
This casual flat-path session is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxed ride — from beginner skaters to dancers, freestylers, and long-distance pushers. The crew often visits a pump track at the mid-way point!
Every Wednesday, 5:30PM, at Confederation Park.
Wednesday Clinic
Meet near the tunnel in Confederation Park every Wednesday at 5:30PM for some of the best downhill path skating in Calgary.
This all-levels session is ideal for learning your first slides on a variety of easy, approachable corners — all in a supportive, welcoming environment. It’s our busiest session of the week and a great way to meet the faces behind Calgary’s longboarding community.
Every Friday, 6:00PM, at Murdoch Park
First Time Fridays
Meet at the pathway between the hill and the soccer field at Murdoch Park every Friday at 6:00PM for a friendly introduction to the basics of longboarding.
This beginner-focused session is perfect for those just getting started — learn how to push, turn, stop, and fall safely in a supportive environment.
